Welcome to my studio; a living archive of creative endeavours.

About...

Ella Bigras is a curator, writer, and artist working at the intersection of critical theory and visual art. Living and working in Tkaronto (Toronto, ON) Bigras is now pursuing an MFA in Criticism and Curatorial Practices at OCAD U, after completing a BA(Hons) in English Language and Literature from Queen’s University.

Having worked in social media, copyediting, and art education, Bigras's multidisciplinary background informs her art practice and curatorial work. We are still here–Technically was her first curatorial project co-curated with fellow graduate students, opening at Xpace Cultural Centre in Toronto (March 25 - April 2nd, 2026).

Bigras' interdisciplinary practice combines research, writing, and exhibition-making to produce thoughtful, accessible, nuanced, and socially engaged curatorial work. Informed by Feminist, Queer and Psychoanalysis theories, Bigras research is focused on destabilizing patriarchal violence by looking for actionable channels of escapism through art.
